What is the difference between brioche and bread rolls?


Although it has the same ingredients as regular buns, you need more eggs and butter to make brioche.To be characterized as brioche, a recipe typically contains 30% to 50% butter to total flour weight. In fact, brioche rolls are more similar to a croissant than to regular bread in terms of texture and structure.


Ingredients:


To make this delicious chocolate milk brioche you will need :

  •  500 g of strong flour
  •  70 g of sugar
  •  10 g of salt
  •  20 g fresh yeast
  •  4 large eggs
  •  150 ml of warm milk
  •  150 g of butter at room temperature
  •  150 g chocolate chips or chocolate pieces


Instructions:


Preparation of the dough: 


In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar and salt.


Dissolve the yeast in the warm milk.  Add this mixture and the eggs to the bowl with the dry ingredients.


Mix well until you obtain a homogeneous mass.


Add the butter little by little while kneading.  Continue kneading until you obtain a soft and elastic dough.


Add the chocolate chips or pieces and mix well.


Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rest in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.


Baking chocolate milk brioche :


Preheat the oven to 180°C.

 

Divide the dough into portions and place them in a previously greased mold, forming the pattern you prefer.

 

Let it rest for 30 minutes.

 

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the brioche is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

 

Remove from the oven and let cool before serving
