Homemade Peanut Butter Brownies

Peanut Butter Brownies

Homemade Peanut Butter Brownies are a mouthwatering fusion of two beloved flavors: rich, chocolaty brownies and creamy peanut butter. This delightful treat offers the perfect balance of sweetness and nuttiness, making it a favorite among dessert enthusiasts. The recipe starts with a classic brownie base, where a luscious mixture of butter, sugar, cocoa powder, and eggs combines to create a moist and fudgy foundation.

What sets Peanut Butter Brownies apart is the enticing peanut butter swirl. A mixture of creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract is gently swirled into the brownie batter before baking. This step not only adds a luxurious, nutty dimension but also creates an eye-catching marbled effect on the brownies. As they bake, the flavors meld together, resulting in a taste sensation that's hard to resist.

These brownies are a testament to the irresistible pairing of chocolate and peanut butter. They're a wonderful treat for any occasion, whether you're indulging in a sweet snack at home or sharing them with friends and family.

The contrast between the dense, chocolatey brownie and the creamy, slightly salty peanut butter swirl is a delightful experience for your taste buds. If you're a fan of this classic flavor combination, Peanut Butter Brownies are sure to become a cherished addition to your dessert repertoire.

Ingredients:

For the Brownie Layer:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

For the Peanut Butter Swirl:

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Homemade Peanut Butter Brownies Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8x8-inch (20x20 cm) baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove it from the heat and stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.

3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

4. In a separate bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

6. In a small microwave-safe bowl, heat the peanut butter in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds until it's easier to work with. Stir in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.

7. Drop spoonfuls of the peanut butter mixture onto the brownie batter in the pan. Use a knife or a toothpick to create swirls by gently running it through the peanut butter and brownie batter to create a marbled effect.

8. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (but not wet batter).

9. Remove the peanut butter brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan on a wire rack for about 10-15 minutes. Then, you can lift them out using the parchment paper (if used) and allow them to cool completely on the wire rack.

10. Once cooled, cut the brownies into squares, serve, and savor the delightful combination of chocolate and peanut butter goodness!
